A meeting of line agencies and relevant stakeholders held at the Centre for Disaster Preparedness and Management (CDPM), University of Peshawar on February 28, 2017. Prof. Dr. Noor Jehan Director CDPM convened the meeting. The basic aim of the meeting was to discuss the current scenario of occurrence of disasters at the National, Provincial and FATA level. The Director CDPM briefed the participants regarding the academic, co-curricular, research and welfare activities of the CDPM. The participants appreciated the achievements of the CDPM in the field of Disaster risk Communication and capacity building. The Director CDPM said that we are open to get into collaboration with any organization working for the welfare of humanity and welfare of our beloved country. Various Government organizations, United Nation sub Departments, INGOs and Local CSOs assured their support to the CDPM in induction of internees in their projects, holding joint conferences/ exhibitions/ symposium/seminars and joint research projects on DRR. Besides, the CDPM offered their services to all relevant line agencies and stakeholders in reviewing their policy documents, plans and project proposal for achieving the goal of resilient Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Pakistan. A total of 38 representatives from National Disaster Management Authority, Provincial Disaster Management Authority-Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, FATA Disaster Management Authority, Pakistan Meteorological Department-KP Chapter, SUPARCO, Irrigation Department, Forest Department, United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization, UNICEF, Acted, COMSATS, Wild Life Department, PFI, Hands International, NECG, Department of Geology and Department of Geography, University of Peshawar attended the meeting.
